EMS Technologies
Social media, website, and inventory management
The problem
Three jobs were being run as three unrelated jobs. Social media was scheduled by hand and reported on by memory. The website was a separate concern that nobody updated when something changed. Inventory lived where inventory usually lives, in a spreadsheet that was right most of the time. Each was manageable on its own; together they consumed the part of the week that should have gone into the actual business.
What we built
A scheduled and consolidated social presence, with the queue and the reporting in one place instead of split across platforms and someone's notes.
A website that reflects the current state of the business, updated from the same records the rest of the operation runs on rather than edited separately whenever someone remembers.
Inventory tracked against one record, with reorder thresholds and an exception path for counts that do not agree.
Scheduled summaries covering all three, so the week starts with a picture rather than a reconstruction.
Handover
Everything runs in accounts EMS Technologies owns, with the workflow definitions and a runbook handed over. It is an ongoing relationship rather than a delivered-and-gone project, which is the honest description of it.
